Welcome to the web site for the Boeing Employees' Amateur Radio Society-St. Louis (BEARS-St. Louis). This web site was recently redesigned, but not all the work is complete. Almost all of the data and information from the previous design has been moved to this one. Some downloads and graphics are taking a bit longer and will be added over time. Please be patient while we clean up our mess. If you have not visited this site before, we suggest you begin by looking at our Club Profile page.

Announcement Regarding Submitted Contest Scores and Opportunity to Re-submit Contest  Logs Entries

Delay in Announcement of Contest Winners

August 15, 2008

QST – To all radio amateurs who participated in the 2008 Missouri QSO Party :

The Boeing Employees’ Amateur Radio Society – St. Louis (www.w0ma.org) regrets to advise that we are delaying the announcement of the winners of the 2008 Missouri QSO Party contest until 1 October 2008.

The BEARS Contest Committee has confirmed that in at least 2 instances, logs which were submitted both electronically and in hard copy by contest participants, were not received by the BEARS MO QSO Party Chairman, K2DP, and therefore NOT INCLUDED in the scoring summary recently completed. These contest entry logs are in the process of being re-submitted to the BEARS for inclusion in the contest scores.

We understand that there may have been some confusion during April of this year as the BEARS changed both web site URL addresses and Contest Chairpersons at the same time.  This may account for contest logs being submitted to the wrong person and not reaching the correct Contest Chairman, K2DP.

Since we do not know how many other contest log entries may not have been received by K2DP, the BEARS would like to provide all participants the opportunity to submit/re-submit their contest logs. Entries will be accepted up through 15 September 2008. Please note that all logs previously submitted to K2DP electronically, received a confirmation back via e-mail from K2DP and do not need to be re-submitted. If you submitted your log in hard copy to K2DP and would like to confirm its receipt, please contact K2DP via e-mail.

Please submit all logs for the 2008 Missouri QSO Party directly to K2DP:

e-mail address: k2dp@charter.net

hard copies to: Dave Propper, K2DP

                        7488 Cornell Avenue

                        University City, MO 63130

Thank you for your patience and your participation in the 2008 MO QSO Party !!!

Field Day Challenge results ... Here are the results of the Field Day Challenge for 2007.  The reason the results are so late is that I forgot to send a request to the other clubs for FD scores. Two of the clubs (BEARONS and Wichita) sent me their scores (without being asked), and I was wondering why it was taking the others so long. I finally checked my outgoing E-mails and discovered my slip-up. I then picked up the BEARS scores from the ARRL web, and also verified that the other clubs did not file entries.

MA wins the Field Day Challenge Award for the year. We will not have the plaque to display at the December meeting, because we haven't received it back from Wichita yet. They have moved their shack several times last year, and it is packed away in boxes. Randy Wing is looking for it and will return it to us, when he finds it.

I can make a summary chart or two for the December meeting if you want to talk about FD

Challenge results.

73,

Eric Zust
